افتتح الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، اليوم الأربعاء، مسجد موسكو الكبير بمشاركة عدد من قادة الدول، من بينهم الرئيس التركي رجب طيب أردوغان والفلسطيني محمود عباس، بحسب ما نقلت وكالة “أنباء الشرق الأوسط”.
وذكرت قناة “روسيا اليوم” أن المسجد بعد خضوعه لعمليات توسعة وترميم يصبح الجامع الأكبر في أوروبا ومقدر له أن يستوعب الآلاف من حشود المصلين.
وكان الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين قد اعتبر أن افتتاح الجامع في موسكو يوم وقوف الحجاج على جبل عرفات سيكون حدثاً مهماً في حياة كل المسلمين في روسيا.
يذكر أن مسجد موسكو والذي بني عام 1904 خضع لأعمال ترميم وتوسعة شاملة استمرت منذ مايو 2005 لتنتهي أخيراً وبتكلفة بلغت 170 مليون دولار، حسب ما ذكر روشان عباسوف نائب رئيس مجلس المفتين في روسيا.
